Here we go again! I can’t believe that I’ve never been to Glastonbury or Stonehenge or Scotland, either. Perhaps you have figured out that some of our many excursions to these powerful places are designed just for me? You are right!

So, for a year we have been planning to visit all the places I want to go to in this area, and I realized that to do it right, we should split it into two sections. So this grand trip will be in two parts: Part one will be May 8-14, and part two will be May 14 to 21. All the details about where we are going are on the page you are looking at.

This part of the world features lots of unknown things, and mysteries still abound. Who knows, we may even see a crop circle? There is a lot of magic here, and I’m always reminded that the mythology of the area is rich with legends and so many famous stories that I have heard all my life.

It’s our style to give you the very best adventure possible. How about a private time inside Stonehenge? The public can’t get this, but we will. We stay in fine hotels, and our excursion guides are the best. Take a moment and look at the descriptions of each of these places, written by the expert tour guides Cameron & Glenn Broughton you will personally meet.

Once again, this is a first for KRYON!

ITINERARYPART 1: North-West England & Scotland – May 8-14, 2018

The Lake District of England is stunningly beautiful with many lakes, mountains, forests and green pastures. It is England’s largest National Park so there is gorgeous scenery wherever you go; it’s also home to some of Britain’s best sacred sites. Castlerigg stone circle is surrounded by mountains, that are often shrouded in mist, making it an idyllic location for a ceremonial centre. Long Meg and her Daughters is both atmospheric and energetically powerful. Many of the sites are astronomically aligned and linked one to another.

Then we travel on to Edinburgh Castle and time to experience a taste of royal Scottish city life. We will have a special evening visit and guided tour of the unique Knights Templar sanctuary of Rosslyn Chapel with its many secrets. You will also be escorted to Temple, the principal Templar preceptory in Scotland, granted to the order by King David l in 1127.

Day TWO: Wednesday May 9, 2018

Mayburgh Henge

This morning we will have an orientation and power point presentation to set the scene for our journey. We are now in Cumbria and just outside the market town of Penrith are two henges close to one another – Mayburgh Henge and King Arthur’s Round Table. They were constructed between two rivers and close to a spring so water seems to have been important in their siting and use. King Arthur’s Round Table is an open area surrounded by a ditch and bank similar to other henges in Britain. However, Mayburgh Henge has a bank constructed from river stones but no ditch making it unusual for a Neolithic henge. A third henge close by has almost completely disappeared now but implies that this area was an important sacred/ritual landscape. Astronomical alignments exist at both sites. We will have lunch in a traditional village pub.

Long Meg & her Daughters

Long Meg and her Daughters will be waiting for us in a lovely rural location at the end of a farm track. This stone circle (the daughters) comprises 69 stones with the tall Long Meg situated outside the circle to the southwest. There are spirals and concentric circles carved on the side of Meg facing her daughters and crystals embedded in the side facing the setting sun.

Little Meg lies close to the northeast and is now eleven stones, two of which have ring carvings.

Castlerigg

Located just outside Keswick, Castlerigg may well be the most beautifully located stone circle in the country, its forty stones being surrounded by low mountains on all sides. Often shrouded by mist in the early morning, this atmospheric site is a real gem and displays multiple solar and lunar alignments. Free time for lunch and exploring the quintessentially British market town of Keswick. As we drive through the Lake Distirct you’ll feast your eyes on some of Britain’s most beautiful scenery.

In the afternoon we’ll transfer to our hotel in Edinburgh.

After our visit to the castle you’ll have free time to have lunch and explore the Royal Mile and Grassmarket area of Edinburgh.

Temple - Balantrodoch Commandery

Later in the afternoon we’ll visit Temple once the main preceptory or headquarters of the famed Knights Templar in Scotland. Today the ruins of the church have a distinct atmosphere and Templar markings can be seen such as skull and crossbones on several gravestones.
